I split wood on the concrete pad at the base of my deck steps. Haven’t broken the concrete yet. You bet I have to resharpen the splitting axe pretty often.

I do. But occasionally I’ll get real damn mad over a piece that won’t split then I get crazy with it and start slamming it into the concrete.

Nah, the rains have been relentless this year. Still a lot of crops standing in the fields. Farmers just can't get in.

I used to split by hand, but with the invention of a tractor and hydraulic splitter, I became lazy. Now, I hook up the splitter, and trailer to go split wood. It is just too muddy. I don't like working in the mud or tearing things up. It will dry up or freeze up!

@hillbilly91 what are you calling a chipping block? I just use a big round. I’ll set it on the concrete though when the ground is soft.

I’m stupid I guess cause I still like doing it by hand. Chopping wood is good exercise, good for the mind too. Machinery breaks and I’m still good to go lol
It’s not much fun in the slop though.
