leaves are good for the soil

Watching people rake leaves drives me nuts. I wanna jump out of my truck and ask them why the heck they are doing that? I know too many leaves will kill the grass but man people are nuts.

I have been digging swales into my hillside for garden/orchard beds and water retention.

the hugelkulture beds work surprisingly good, I have herbs i havent watered in years growing in one and I only watered my tomato plants for a couple weeks till I was confident they were rooted then went the rest of the summer without watering them and still had far too many tomatoes to handle even with people steeling some. I have three of the beds going now and i'm working on a 4rth one for strawberry production
