That's usually the problem if I'm not getting a spark when I jump the wire to the post each evening I can walk it and find something last it was a snake trying to get into the sweater pen ( big pens )

Thanks flypen I have a jumper wire going from the dome pen fence to the big pens. I unhooked that jumper and the dome pen fence is back in service so it's something with the big pens. But that's cool that would be a lot less rerunning

thanks so a rerun of wire is the next step?

Put a short piece of new hot wire on it, make SURE your ground is GOOD then test it again

Sweeet! That's the best way to find your short by removing a section, normally it's going to be a ground problem on one side or the other

Yeah I'm sure glad it's about 200' of wire instead of an 1/2 mile ish.
