Oh it's still tested. In the pit, games are rarely shown pure anyway
No offense meant but names actually do matter. They prove that what you are getting is actual game birds and not some bird that is just bred to look like a game and won't even do what they were bred to do. It is true that they need to be quality gamecocks but the names DO matter. This is a very astute statement. I see sooooo many people obsessed over what bloodlines they have and they love to throw names around like they are designer labels...when in reality all that matters is are they quality game.
I say this after I ask about my birds heritage, but that is just because I am curious and I like to increase my gamefowl knowledge.
I know my birds are awesome because they have lived feral on my ranch for over twenty years...they are true survivors.
The hen I showed you does have a sister, I just have to find her photo. Her sister looks a little different than her, but very close. I just think they are beautiful and I could look at them for hours.
You are also completely correct on the difference between incubating and raising them yourself vs. the mama hen.
I was going to mention that in another post that un knowing people trying to get into gamefowl will probably learn their first few birds prolly will be dunghill due to buying from peddlers and not knowing any better. If you're just starting out try to find a mentor but I suppose most just wanting some for the beauty aren't gonna be worried about performance anyway which is one reason these birds a going to **** for the most part. But at least there's the real deal still left within the "circles" over the world. When I say not currently tested it is referring to many purchased especially over the internet with birds not actually witnessed.
I can run across several peddlers within an hours drive that have all sorts of "strains" that have never left the peddlers place or came directly from another peddler with possibly a similar resume.
