man I'm telling you if it could be done the hatcheries of egg laying hens for backyard flocks would definitely be doing it. They cull so many of them unwanted roosters day in and day out. Don't you think if they could they would only set "female" eggs. That's business.
This is true, however the time that would go into that plus the money lost from the byproduct of the culled birds is a factor. There are underlying factors I.e dog food production. Did you think they raise chickens specifically to produce these high end dog foods. There is more to business than meets the public eye. I admire your commitment to logic but you are talking capitalism there is only the bottom line.

Tyson and purdue and such use young roosters that have been nuetered for meat production so why cull when you could sell meat birds for meat.

What time? They still sex day old baby chicks with equipment they insert into the vent. I guarantee if it was doable egg sexing would be faster which makes my point.
The dog food argument isn't the issue. They may well make a profit from that and fertilizer now. They wouldn't be bothered if hatching 100% female was a reality. Not to mention the heat they get from animal rights groups.

Tyson and Perdue are big "meat" companies. I was talking about hatcheries and eggs for eating.

You are looking at it from the wrong perspective and its a logical one but just not what it is.

I was just thinking if they could sell to these companys for meat that would be better than tossing out and waisting roosters. Im not trying to poke the bear sir just giving an opinionated idea. :)

A bus is not a reliable source of transport according to a large majority of the population but that doesn't make it so. If used well by a well experienced traveler it can be spot on. Opinion is a bad argument vs actual experience.

the point is dead roosters make money too. so they have to be hatched to be killed to serve the demand.
the demand only came from their inability to hatch all hens. They are spending money hatching those roosters so of course they look for a way to make some money back on a byproduct. Common sense can't be taught my friend.
