Hey guys how loose feathered is too loose feathered for an American Game?
The "WitchDoctor," rooster ain't a manfighter, he was just handled rough. Turns out he was caught in a live trap, beside a farm with hatch, sweaters, and witchdoctors, so he lived most of his life as a wild chicken. I'm happy to say that I got him tamed down. What I am noticing is more/looser feathers under the breast and around the thighs than any other games chickens I've had. I don't have a good pic yet but I plan to have one soon. His leg scales are slightly raised and I forgot the old timer cure for leg mites. All I know about him is that his sons look just like him, and he can spar well.

cooking oil. dip the legs in oil a couple times a week, or brush the oil on. there are several threads on here about that. I read 8 pages worth a couple weeks ago, this seems about the best/easiest to me.
one person made a setup with a pan of used restaurant cooking oil that they would have to walk through. he had a bunch of birds with it.
you're suffocating the little buggers.
I think the oil mixed with flea/tick spray would work good, haven't tried it though.
good luck

does anyone know what kind or breed of rooster this is ? I'm trying to find a better picture, but this is my rooster that attacked me. My neighbor gave him to me and said he was some kind of game rooster.

The legs are grey and black. You can't see in the picture, but some of the dark tail feathers have green in them also. He's a beautiful bird, but aggressive. I have him in a smaller cage since he attacked me and I'm trying to figure out what to do with him now.

Idk all mine are penned. Larger pens without hens have lessened the aggression with a couple but didn't make them loving kittens either lol
