Haha. No thanks. Although you may think whatever you want. I am not as far right as you may think my friend. You are right.. loss of habitat is a driver of wild animal demise... but so is the guy who goes out and kills everything within a mile radius of his newly acquired habitat.
save your hypocritical nonsense for the Trump rally.
I counted 14 raccoons walked in front of my car last fall on my way to work right out front of my house. I've killed 2 since then. That's 12 left pulse many more that I didn't see. + breeding, not going extinct anytime soon at least around here. You need to understand the carrying capacity of the land. There are fur bearer biologists and surveys and sample testing and all kinds of other things that go into setting seasons, limits etc.. While it may make you feel good to shed a tear for the helpless animals. Your time would be better spent cleaning up a stream, adding a wood duck nest box, volunteer to do animal counts in your area etc..That way you can actually make a difference.
You would be better prepared if you understood the home range size of certain animals like fox and raccoons. Foxes are much larger, take the male and if the habitat is there another will move in within a year. Every fall the young foxes are on their own. Raccoons will usually stay with the mother until the second year. This all makes a difference. Since the adoption of regulated hunting and season limits not one animal has become extinct. Most populations have rebounded to much higher levels in recent history. I killed a raccoon a few years ago that came charging toward me at 1 o'clock in the afternoon. He had distemper. Is an animals brain cooking inside its head a more ethical way to die? Populations get too big for a certain area and disease can and will kill them anyway. Being pushed outside of its home range by people that wanna build big houses in the woods to impress their friends because of the awesome view? Then slap a bumper sticker on their car that says they're animal friendly. That's hypocritical.
Nonetheless you can sleep soundly knowing my traps will be working hard the next few days. I will keep you updated on the progress. Lol
