Wow thats a bummer... I would be devestated.

I was lucky enough that my neighbor was a cocker who gifted me my starting flock of games. I also befriended another cocker after seeing his ad on craigslist... I just went to look at his birds (with the intention of buying one, even tho I didnt have money) and he spend hours talking to me about them... now he wants to give a breeding pair.

I wish it was that easy for me, however our breed was very rare and getting a hold of one would mean driving clear back to Maine and getting one from up there. However I don't see that happening any time soon. Between us being in the middle of building a house and the roofing business getting slow I am going to be having a hard enough time just paying the bills, never the less feeding all the animals. I so am not going to be having fun trying to pick out the best of what I have here for hens, and trying to get a few flocks from just them. 2 of the hens have been throwing red babies and we don't want red roosters. However the black toe nails and the yellow ear lobe is being passed on by them so that is one up to it all. Just need to get the red out of it. If it was a flock of games I could most likely replace them but nope it was my big boys and girls that all got stole, so now it's having to use the regular eating egg girls to get me some prize boys and girls from.

We had a man stop last month that asked me if I had any like little man that I wanted to sell he was willing to pay me $500 for little man, then he saw he was crippled and offered me $200 for him. He is my baby though so I need to get him some ladies this spring. It's a good thing he didn't see Speed. I need to add to my games, and add to my Legacy this year.

I want to stick with just 4 breeds. The games, legacy, BO's and the NN's I think that will be enough to handle until when we get moved up to the big house. Even though I have been window shopping at the hatchery sites

Hubby will kill me if I bring home to many more chicks.

Yep with the same blood and better. Relay once u know people and friends have birds. That's why I said if u really get into games eventually u won't pay for any. Like as of today I have 2 or 3 cocks and a hen on loan for breeding. And I've been loaned to or gifted like my Kelso and sweater brood clocks and my white Kelso hen and some others. Then whatever I hatch or they hatch we split or whatever. It's not random people

thanks set up this way takes a little over 5 min to feed all pens, 10 for water when it's not frozen.

I would let anyone tour my yard if they wanted. I would just make sure to keep my golden goose and stockpile of magic beans well hidden.
