Huh mine when they go broody ( grey worker hens ) I just pick up the nest with her in it and move it to an above ground pen across the yard they don't move look like a statue then get my eggs take her out hold her like a cock swap eggs put her down and within 5 min they back on

Yes sir! The last 2 I did move the bucket they were in to a dome pen, both of my grey hens and one kelso have gone broody way before the rest of the bunch.

Thanks yeah I built it. I'm not a very good wood worker ( metal and pipe a different story ) so in hindsight it very overbuilt but sturdy. Each stall is 3 x 3 x 3 and a lil bit

can anyone guess the outcome of this? Not sure what happened I guess a freak wind gust or something. Wasn't even windy, either way bird got out somehow. It wasn't pretty. I bathed my first chicken. You can see the spilled food. I just fed this bird not 10 minutes before. I had to lift the pen to get his feed cup and hang it back up. Went in the house to change clothes and went back out to collect eggs. Everything was normal. A few minutes later my wife came home, met her in the driveway cause someone rear ended her car. Heard a commotion in the backyard. The rest is obvious. Tough day.

Is the wire dented anywhere like from predators from the sky? I remember doing a round and noticing a bigol dent in the wire of a round growout pen. If it weren't staked it would have went over.
