Is it normal for a hen to go lay a egg in where there is a hen already setting my kelso hen started setting the 26th of April but my toppy hen gets in the nesting box with her and lays a egg??? Should I be concerned??

yeah I have this problem frequently..

I don't try to control the hens that much, like some of the other guys do...so I just let them lay where they want and go broody when they want.

When this happens the eggs develop later and wont hatch until a number of days after the main hatch.. I use the incubator to finish the hatching sometimes... otherwise, when the hens gets up to care for chicks, the remaining eggs will die.

Okay thanks for the advice I was just concerned I didn't know if my toppy getting in the nest with her would bother her or not

SDM's chicks... first time out of the brooder... they went back in today while I am at work...

Im still too scared to let them roam. I have been waking up every morning at 5 scaring off coyotes.. they are right up on fence, while the dogs bark at them 4 ft away. They wont run until I come out and throw rocks at them... in my boxers lol

shoot them between the eyeballs and then skin them. Send off to get tanned and im sure they will make a nice addition to your home decor.
