I did not consider my statement as a hypothesis, rather it is an unsubstantiated (by me) fact.

Hypothesis is just an idea about how or why something works. Theory has at least some data supporting it and is in the process of being tested. Law means all data supports and most if not all parties agree it it true. Many hypothesis and even theories are disproved over time. I am working on some I came up with myself where my crew is the group most likely to disprove them.
