What are the pros and cons of crossing asil with american gamefowl?

A con is you are at risk of diluting the American Game breed. Use of Aseel to generate battle crosses even as grades fine and dandy but care should be taken to preserve some "pure" American Games for future use. American Games are the most genetically varied and sound chickens we have in the US and possibly the Americas as a whole. Aseels here in the states not nearly as important to long-term genetic conservation of poultry as are the Aseels of Pakistan and India where most of their genetic variation still resides.

Yeah I wouldn't cross just to cross, infuse oriental blood in a very limited strict breeding in and out only for battle cross.

usually 1/8 asil is the most that people are going for if u got 1/4 the breeder prolly isnt done yet with the siblings they still have at least one more breeding back to the American side

Yea I'd like to go back my uncle became pretty good friends with him. He has a small pond in the front bythe road he had all kind of ducks wood ducks mandarin ducks and some others

Well ive allready gotten a few eggs from this rooster and will probably be getting fertile eggs from my hens from him for a week or so. Thats more than plenty asil crosses for me. i have a guy that wants to trade my rooster and the long neck hen i have straight accross for a breeding pair of his own american gamefowl. Im going to go look at them today and probably trade with him for a pure american game rooster as long as his birds look decent. hehas pure kelso, sweaters, albany, and other breeders as well. I wont know what all he has untill i go see them.

does anyone know what kind or breed of rooster this is ? I'm trying to find a better picture, but this is my rooster that attacked me. My neighbor gave him to me and said he was some kind of game rooster.
That's a very nice looking bird. I don't believe I've ever seen a bird with those colors with dark legs. Very cool. I'd keep him.
