The next week or so it's supposed to be in the 90's and mostly sunny. Thank god. I swear the chickens seem like they love playing in the mud. Like it don't bother them in the least.
I might be getting some tropical rain this weekend/early next week. Probably just overcast and slight drizzle tho. Deserts will get it worse as usual.

Sorry it's been a while since I responded, but this is the rooster in question. His legs are a little better than they were in the pic, (I've been putting the used cooking oil on them,)... The hen has the same exact body shape as him except she's black. The babies I got either look like him, or are brassybacked or black.
Most of the chicks of his got killed by something that got into their pen, so no pictures.
I'm just curious to see if anyone seen the color traits going on here (Like the white spots on the breast, or the barring on the tail), or the obviously fluffy feathers around the thighs.
When he's perched at night his tail goes so high that it's against his hackles. I questioned if he has serama bantam in his blood!

Well I added straw to all 51 pens. I had 2.5 bales left. It went further then I thought it would. Everything is s big job with that many pens. Lol

Markings in tail indicate bird was sick at time those stretches of tail feathers were coming in. It is like rings on tree trunks or fish scales that record growth, health and even reproduction.
