Just build a few dome pens and keep what you want. They don't look that bad and you could find some sort of "happy" material to cover them with to brighten your spirits. Cheapest way that does the job.

Hey whitney, jsut an idea but i had an experience with my laying hens. One somehow got her neck cought on or in something and it tore a hole in the side of her neck. Basicly just ripped skin but being on the side and towards the front of her neck it was hard to get it to heal cause chickens are constantly moving their necks. I ended up using some stuff i think it was called silveraid. Something like that. I found it right by the neosporin in the first aid section of local pharmacy chain. I went to walgreens. Its a silver solution that is antibacterial and helps to regenerate new tissue. I used this stuff and everything was all healed up within a week and a half. just a little info for thought.

Lol no kidding! Cutting the points off helps a little but not much. A couple weeks ago I was putting my man fighting bird on a cord and he gave me a real nice titty twister. Usually keep two hands on em and for some reason I didn't. The best part is he wouldn't let go. I don't think he realized that it wasn't as much fun for me. He bites hard and twists his d*mn head around like an owl.

I'm only missing a few spurs. Not bad when you consider the numbers.

You need to let them out of the pens for a bit. They will appreciate the freedom and just go about their business scratching and pecking the ground. It's a win win cause they will also help aerate the soil. Which will produce a fantastic lawn. What could go wrong?
