Got a friend who works for a pizza place... hooks me up with big boxes of lettuce every Thursday night, that they would normally throw away. 2nd week and the chickens love it, gives them something to munch on throughout the day.

Gave away my old wild type, but I'm keeping his son. I like the son because of the white earlobes. Should be about the same size. This one didnt get fowl pox like his dad, so his comb should stay nice and sharp.

Shubin those white patches are a throw back of non game? I've never seen in person an American game with white lobes

Not sure... I've never bred non-game into my lines... I have others with white earlobes that are basically unrelated to this one.
Gamer for example, white earlobes.

Some hens had white in the past. Mostly on Leiper style hens. This is his mom, she also has white earlobes.

It may be "regression" back to the red jungle fowl? I think I have seen photos of RJF with white earlobes...

Awhile back I had one of my penny hatch stags showing some white in the lobes. It's gone now though.
