yeah... I wish it was survival of the fittest... but natural selection doesnt always fall in line with that.. .this was just bad luck.. or one wrong decision.

I cant and don't want to keep all my young ones in cages or pens. so I suffer losses. Its a bummer but I think overall its better for my flock...

Making that decision, I like to think I am helping the flock overall, even if I loose a few good ones.

RIP... poor stag wound up on the wrong side of the neighbors fence, and was eaten by 3 dogs this morning. Was a champion in the making.

That sucks man. If it was a valuable stag why not pen him up just in case

When I posted last those last posts from u guys weren't there. Phone must be acting up again.

I had to put the white stag in a pen, because he was being an jerk.

After I put the white in the big aviary, I will have one pen open for the best sibling of the one that jsut died.

I hand raised that one that died.. I left his siblings with the mother hen.

I think.of natural selection as in natural death (illness) not so much dog attacks that's totally prevent able. That's like saying natural selection for poor guy that walked up on a grizzly bear while hiking

Haha. Shoulda been carrying a desert eagle and a big knife. Coulda been eating bear steaks while wrapped in a fur rug sitting around a nice campfire. Lol
