I dont what I am going to use them for yet, but they have plenty of uses. I might put them in the shed as brooders when spring comes.

Right now I am throwing food in the cages, so the free range fowl will go inside. Great way to catch them.

I come in at Pacific breakfast time. I check up on the forum before I start working.

I have no info on breeds or bloodlines, as I dont keep anything pure. I judge each bird on an individual basis.

American Games were created on crosses, and every bloodline will vary in my opinion. Some of the newer strains (from operational farms) may be consistent, but the old bloodlines have likely been "refreshed" throughout the century.
It's at least a guideline of what to expect from a particular strain. After all if a mixed bird in 3/4 kelso u might not wanna breed it with another kelso when sticking to your mixed theme. If you don't know your hurting yourself cause some birds might be better to breed with em than others.

I guess the point I'm trying to make is all the guys who came before us left some awesome birds. They deserve at least a little respect for their hard work.

Some "generic" breeds like Greys and Hatches vary no matter what...

More recent/specific bloodlines like Ruble Hatch, Possum Sweater, etc may be more predictable and easier to generalize.

I just wanted to share a couple of my guys...no, they are not a specific bloodline, they are just my ranch birds and they dont leave the property

How exactly do you describe your birds shubin? I've seen u type out "hatch" many times. How do you know for sure? You don't, just using it as an identifier. Same as "ruble" etc the more recent name just narrows down the abilities of the bird and what to expect.

Yeah I am not perfect and use terms interchangeably. Like "Hatch" to describe "green leg BBR".

I keep different size, shape and weights. Gamefowl and my yard vary tremendously. I keep variations on purpose so I have options on which direction I want to breed. I have Powerful Heavy Birds and then I have a smaller flying birds, but most are in between and balanced.

If I wanted to breed for something specific I could do it because of the variations I keep.
