No worries though. I'm not afraid to cull birds to get moving in the right direction quickly. I've culled down from 142 birds to less than 100 and got 9 more that need gone.

I'm going to eventually only keep a few lines. Ill keep a few pairs for crossing but I will be cutting the numbers way back to only keep the best.
I crossed Leipers and penny's got 9 chicks. Lost the rooster in an unfortunate circumstance but managed to get all 9 fertile eggs hatched. Chicks so far are the strongest of the bunch.

I have hatched a few in last 30+ years, I think this incubator has seen its best years. I regulate my humidity between 38 and 40 same as always, but my temp isn't as steady as it use to be.

I was just trying to be helpful. Wasnt trying to insinuate that you didnt know what you were doing. Hatching is a constant learning and tweeking process for me and I still have bad hatches from time to time. And its always that one pair you are REALLY are wanting to raise off of that you have the hardest time with. Lol. Or maybe thats just my luck.

I actually noticed my Genesis was off on temp a few weeks ago also, now that u mention it. The set temp was 100 and the incubator temp was reading 99.6 or so but I was having clutches of chicks hatching on day 19 and 20 with bloody navals. I checked it with my gqf bulb thermometer and it was actually like 101 so I had to tweek it. Hoping it stays stable. I wont keep it long if keeping the temp stable is an ongoing battle.

Good luck!

Good luck to you too, I have noticed that it had to be adjusted every 2 or 3 days. I'm not going to trust it with my eggs anymore.
