2 months...How old are they? Looking good
oh wow... My emotions are running high after reading this and its not even my dog.. I could only imagine what you are going through. I am sorry to hear this.
Lost a good chicken dog Wednesday. Bear was one of our Great Pyrenees and we raised him from a pup. Had him for 8 years and never once did he so much as harm anything even when he was off chain (only one male can be loose at a time.. they fight when they are both off together). He got out on Wednesday and apparently was running a mini goat and must have accidentally killed it. The owner who lives down the road gut shot him I guess thinking he would come home to die.. but he didnt. My father in law was coming up and saw Bear in the field from the road. He went over to the fence and Bear was still alive and breathing but couldnt get over the fence to him. My husband came home not long after that and he went down and climbed the fence and got him in the back of the truck to bring him home. When he went to talk to the guy he wouldnt even come to the door. He sent his wife to speak to my husband and she spoke through a cracked window. My husband was very nice and apologetic. He told them he would have gladly paid for the goat had the guy not shot our dog. They wouldnt even face us! I hate that their goat was killed and I wouldve been mad too but the civil thing to do was come to us. They knew Bear was our dog.. we are the only ones in the holler with Great Pyrenees. I would have paid him however much the goat costed. Strange dogs come up all the time trying to run chickens and our dogs send them on their way.. not once have we shot at a neighbors dog.
I am so upset at the loss of one of our dogs. We have never lost a chicken on cord or free ranging due to varmints thanks to our boys. Such a shame..

My dogs have attacked my goats so I know that feeling as well. But I would never kill my dog or any other in vengeance. Luckily my goats only got minor scrapes.
Eye for and eye and the whole world would be blind.
Can anybody tell me what kind of game this guy is. I'm assuming he's a mix? Someone gave him to me![]()
I am an advocate of breeding crosses. All my fowl are weed crosses, lol except a few pure Spanish/Cubans breeds I was gifted.Looks white legged and straight combed best I can tell so some kind of kelso.. maybe a claret or a butcher? You can speculate all day but its pretty hard to say if the guy you got them from doesnt know. Could be pure or could be a 4 way cross. But from my experience you cant beat a crossed up rooster. Lots of fresh genetics in their makeup from several different lines (as long as they are good lines). I prefer knowing what lines Im dealing with as far as breeding goes but as far as show crosses.. the best roosters can come from weed crosses. Lol

I agree that its hard to tell from looks alone. you'd have to ask the breeder. And that isnt the best picture of the rooster either haha. @TimCline
