Love everyone's birds... I just got down reading up on Warhorses, fascinating history. Topsy I think next... so much to digest.

I think u mean toppy lol. Sorry I don't know nuttin about the past few posts. I believe animals don't mate with other types of animals for a reason and humans should not try to do that. That's why imo the offspring will be sterile or die

Comb question: Topsy birds, what have you guys seen and does this line have a tendency toward the dome soft spot thing?

Toppies I have had differed only in the feathering on the head. You could discern homozygous and heterozygous individuals based on appearance. Neither exhibited a soft spot in the dome of skull.

I'm done with chicks for the year. I got hens quitting on me left and right lol. By quitting I mean after a few weeks they're done with the chicks not eggs

I still have 4 on the nests. I didn't see the white Albany pullet this afternoon. I'm guessing a hawk got her.

Ugh that sucks. (Knock on wood) so far I've lost one chick. Disappeared at 3-4 days old. That's it though aside from a pullet getting her head filleted.

Out of everything thats penned up I've only lost 2 and the pullets running loose with biddies have lost about 50%. I turned some pens out a couple weeks ago and they're doing good. There's another big group of them up the hill. A couple of these are older pullets.
