So I was thinking I wouldn't call myself a prepper but living where I do I am prepared for roughly 3 weeks of no electricity and food, water and stuff (hurricanes not biblical flooding ) but about the birds my wife has one of those vacuum things with various bags largest being about 3' sq for blankets and stuff. So before I try it does anyone see a problem vacuuming a few sacks of pellets? I guess if it stays air free it should be ok

Never thought about that one, but why not? Long term storage at room temperature is not ideal, but vacuum packing it would help. Better than going hungry!

people make their own mres out of vacuum sealing so I guess it'll work for feed.
I haven't read into it in detail so I don't know the do's and don't about mre making just that its done
I only need to to last about 8mo I could use it at the end of hurricane season each year

He definitely has the look of a game.. hard to say for sure that he is American game without knowing history.

Looks good though. Healthy and good stance.

Look up Pumpkin Gamefowl images

Thanks for the lead! Sadly, I don't know his background...the cat stole him and brought him home at about a week old. Could be a barnyard mutt so I am just curious of what in the world he could be. However, I'm in south Phoenix which wouldn't be surprising if there was breeding for fighting around me. I just remind "Nugget" how lucky he is to not be abused or in a pot!

A dry feed with relatively low fat content would probably work best. A high fat/oil feed may become a little rancid, but again being vacuum packed helps.

agree. The game cock mix I use has fish and bone meal in some of the pellet... I would think those would go bad..

regular dry scratch would be good I think.

It's sad to assume just because he may or may not be a gamecock (stag) that he automatically was used for fighting or abused. You know what they say about assumptions.
