Thank you...

Im liking that black one, but he is the only one left with some boogers, which is why I grabbed him and clean him up. Took some pictures.

Coopers hawk easy to keep at bay using a gamecock. Hawk will target chicks that have just been weaned at about 5 week until they roughly double in size where hawk can no longer fly with them. Red-shouldered Hawks have yet to be a problem for my games or chickens in general even though I see them more than other species combined.

I think it was either a cooper's hawk or a red shoulder hawk. I turned into the crazy chicken lady immediately, and chased it off. We've seen it fly over, but too high up to identify
My dogs run after hawks and bark at them.

I agree with Centra, they'll only go after the youngest chicks (From what I have seen). Angry mama hens or a good free range cock would deter. I think mama hens are much more willing to chase off a hawk, as where the cock would be more likely to signal and keep a watch out for them.

Last year I had one of my Grey hens fly up after a Cooper and stayed in the air about 15' for over 50 - 60 yards. I caught her and put her in a pen before she jumped on the wrong critter. I have a Murphy hen that jumped on my wife's Chihuahua, one of our German Shepherds, she don't fear anything I believe.

I got one hen that jumps all over me. That's a mean bird. Lol
