Wha!? You live close to a road/highway?   Did you see it? did they stop?
What do you think I hike into my house over mountain passes and around waterfalls? Lol yeah I have a road in front of my house and the pullets were crossing the street to go into the woods on the other side of the road. Dumb*sses! Anyway I heard the thump and I swear to you I don't think the lady even knew she hit anything. I was walking down my driveway when she passed by. She was looking straight ahead. After all buddy I do live in NJ it's best to stay out of the road.

oh well that sucks... from your pictures it looks very private and backed into the woods. I wouldnt have thought cars were flying by your house fast enough to hit chickens...

I live on a cul-de-sac... and my house is hidden from the street (im behind another house and have a long driveway)... no car troubles here.

just coyotes

Another young coyote came up around 7am this morning, right up to the fence.. chickens freaked and dogs scrambled to scene in time to scare it away as it was chasing a flock roaming in the neighbors yard.

See that telephone pole in the last pic. That's the road. It's private and secluded. It was one of them latte drinking yuppies cutting through my street to get to her cookie cutter neighborhood. And I have no problems cause I don't have any neighbors. The rooster ran out in front of her. Wasn't going that fast.

I don't envy you living in new Jersey, I haven't been there in 9 years , not my favorite. I'm lucky enough to live in the mountains 7 miles down a dirt road over a couple low water bridges ^_^ my property is so backwoods I have neighbors with no electricity, running water and dirt floors in there homes. We have alot of Amish around here and a post apocalyptic occult owns 100s of acres around me so no real neighbors just shut-ins lol , gotta love country life. If one of my dogs get hit they were asking for it
