I Started out about 20 years ago with Old English Game Bantams. If you bred them to have game characteristics, i.e. hard feathers, alertness, heart shape, etc., your birds were said to be of the wrong type. That's okay if that is what they want, but it wasn't for me. I then started a strain of Ginger Red American Game Bantams and had a blast with them. Now, I'm at the beginning stage of raising Black Breasted Red AGB's. I have a small male on some older pullets, or your hens. The females came from a guy in east Texas who said they are of the Kelso strain. I did not buy the females because they were Kelso, but because they best fitted my situation. Some birds, like Johnny Jumper's for example, seem to have their certain characteristics that someone can see that they may very well be from Jumper's strain. Are their certain characteristics unique to Kelso's? If you want a certain strain of birds, do you just rely on the seller's statement?

You know someone has already bred them both ways, the Velcros come looking exactly like them two.

I'm sitting down in the basement tying flies and I hear a noise outside thanks to my not so well sealed back door. What do I find you ask?

Now back to the task at hand

The guy with that website has some really nice birds. I saved his website. It would be hard to pick one out. I checked the hens' color that I purchased and tried to find some with the most black in their main and covert tail feathers. I also checked for any white in their wings and found none. Right or wrong, I'm anxious for chicks. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Good job, if the hot wire didn't get him, he would've had supper tonight
Yeah it's crazy I was thinking earlier that I have so many birds running loose and haven't lost many at all. I keep the traps set and the guns handy though. Now I gotta figure out some homes for these birds lol

I know I have a big owl hanging around before daylight, and a occasional hawk, but without this hot wire they would wipe me out.
