I know I have a big owl hanging around before daylight, and a occasional hawk, but without this hot wire they would wipe me out.

How do you keep owls out with hot-wire? My owls only have trouble with electrified poultry netting and that is only when they are trying to hunt from ground.

Best owl stop that I have that does not confine games is bird or deer netting. The owls act like the stuff is poison. When I put a strip down by a row of pens with chicks the owl really wants, you can see owl in camera staying a good two feet away from the netting as it walks about and alights on points it tries to hunt from.

After i have had roosters killed while in the 2x4 wire domes i now use poultry netting around every dome pen ,so that nothing reachs in after my fowl ,,it looks unkept but my birds arent being eaten by those ZOMBIE birds,,,owls hawks.

Well the subject was about the coons, guess I should've worded it different. The hot wire helps me with the 4 legged critters, the owl and the hawks still get their dinner occasionally.

Yes. But I haven't payed close attention to the ratio of darker stags to light. I don't have a preference.
