Make sure you incorporate the fact that all gamefowl are crosses, and that AGF are still developing to this day to keep up with evolution of the sport and new breeds being developed abroad and here at home.

Not to argue with anybody, but just a rant using a metaphor..
I am not against the conservation of bloodlines, but remember that we dont race 1950's stockcars anymore. If you want vintage that is fine, but expect vintage performance (which may not be able to keep up with today high performance machines).

If you read the history on these famous bloodlines you'll realize that they were producing crosses based on performance. Not keeping pure bloodlines with their names on it...

Agreed with u 100%. But there is nothing like driving a vw bug. Haha. A friend of mine had a bug that ran 10s in the quarter mile. Thing was wicked.

Nice metaphor Shubin!

I got something for you!

Most all the gamefowl origins and history has been posted here 2200 times before and if not is easily found with a google search. Some of them guys are still active on other forums anyway.

I definitely agree havoc! I caught a free range hatch stag yesterday, when I put my hands on him for the first time, there was no biting or fighting. That what I enjoy.
Yep. I wait til they pair themselves up on the yard. Just walk right up and scoop up a stag in each hand lol

Most still kept birds pure as when they got them, then made separate crosses. They usually maintained the lines for a long while before determining a cross is better than the originals they had.

Awesome.... Do you think you'll take some of better crosses and make them brood stock for next year?
Way too early to tell. All I am really messing with is my blacks. I had 3 lines. Now I have 2. 1 of them is a blend of two different lines. Both seem good so far, too early to say if either is better

He looks gentle as a kitten, maybe he just wants to play.lol
He's a mean b*stard when penned. Outside his pen and in the hand he's fine. He's awfully fast for as big as he is too. When I dubbed him last year he got mad as h*ll. Bout lost it on me. To me that's a good sign so he stays.

He looks like he wants to play. Sorry for reposting history of Gamefowl. It's new to me an interesting to me. Thought I would share but I'll keep that to a minimum since it's clear that u guys are on a totally different level. Sorry for that.
