I quit using ratchet straps cause I'm always running late and I usually don't have time to fiddle with frozen straps. I end up cutting about a half dozen every year

backpacking in the Sierras during summer in a death wave of mosquitoes, I got so bit up my entire body was feeling numb and tingly. no joke around 200 bites on my face, arms and neck. And even on my ankles where they could penetrate the socks.

Backpacking trip in the adirondacks years ago was the worst. July the black flies and mosquitoes were so bad we had to stop every mile or so and light a small fire on the trail to smoke them out. Terrible, we were all bloody.

just fyi I have a double reed something and a mallard drake call. It's better for all parties if I leave them home

Haha. I use foiles migrators. I rarely call though. A little here and there. I will wail away on a goose call though but that's a little different.
Once it gets real cold most of the cowboys stay home.

i can't even get anyone to go hunting with me once it gets cold. Everybody wants to leave early, b*tching and moaning about the wind, picking up icy decoys etc.. I figure if them little ducks can take it so can I. My wife is the only person I know that don't complain but to be honest she's so bundled up she wouldn't hit a 747 at 20 yds lol
