Nah it's almost a 3 yr old cock. I pulled him out of his pen cause he had some feathers that were messed up on his neck. Wanted to make sure there wasn't anything wrong with him. Forgot to take a pic of him though before I put him back.

His hen got out on me. Blue hen that's loose gave her the good news. Hopefully she'll be back on top in a bit so I can put her back. Don't feel like chasing her

Just checking in... been crazy busy. Just got hubby back from ICU, he was run over by a car, hit and run. So I will be taking care of him, off work a few days as the MDs where afraid if he is left alone he might fall or burn the house down trying to cook... he has a bad hip injury and a concussion that means his thought process is still confused. I also have to make sure he does not start bleeding again.

It is a bit too stormy for me to go out and take a picture of that hen, but she is looking real good now and interestingly the other bird has become way less aggressive and no longer wants to roost near her or in the pen... I wonder if they had another dust up and the big hen lost? As they roam the yard all day till I get home from work and put them to bed... so it is possible. Just interesting watching the up and downs of their pecking order. I admit it I am easily amused... I did note as the small one's feathers finally came in the behaviors started to return to normal... but then one day I come home from work and the big bird instead of owning the pen is trying to avoid the pen and the little one was owning it...

sorry to hear I know how it is to wonder what tomorrow's gonna bring. I've been down that road years ago with my father and at the time I was on the fire dept and responded to my own home twice to work a shortness of breath and a mild infarction.
Good to hear about your hens. Don't know about the pecking order but something musta happened lol
