I run a tight ship like I say run it like a prison no they can't do whatever they want but I consider them pretty safe (knock on wood).
Same concept applies to humans in a country/government. Loose freedom for protection/services. Gain freedom by fending for yourself. Finding that balance is key.

Still kicking. Feed low but not zero. Stool dominated by uric acid. Will introduce electrolytes to drinking water. One hen passed major mass of large round worms. She carried worm burden well while in good physical condition. I do not want her so challenged now do will treat both with dewormer.

If one has worms I would assume most have it... although the walks on your yard may keep them local to each walk

I assume all have at least some worms. Any birds having trouble keeping weight, regardless of reason are culled. Most of those with weight issue likely wormy. Low weight birds infrequent as none this year. No dewormer use unless wormy and dewormed birds are then culled. Keeps worm resistance high.

Your gonna save a couple hens that were mangled by dogs yet cull birds that have worms even after you worm them?? Am I missing something.

Probably missing something. Birds weakened by worms have a genetic preposition for it assuming all have similar rates of exposure. Mangled birds, as in this case, suffered more likely than not bad luck especially when they were confined when luck happened. The birds with worm issues will more likely than not share that with their offspring that so as to be similarly vulnerable. Chicks will not inherit mangled wings. Similar analogy could involve a runner verses a bird with a sloppy dub job.
