They're definitely not like layer breeds... but not like yours either... just a lot of similar traits... it's been a learning experience that continues...

Well while in NV naturally I had to go to TSC store in the mostly ag town we were in, it was right there next to the gas station... picked up some feed, a new water idea to add to the pen... and checked out a bigger coop. Sadly the coop I was looking at is out of stock in CA and the built one at TSC in NV was their only one which means it was not coming home... so we have been discussing options... there is one I think we can build and modify that is large and tall enough... option 2 just build from scratch. But I think modifying a kit is more workable for my current construction skills, time constraints and his health. He just told me he has always wanted the chickens with the feathered feet... I showed him pictures, I am pretty sure he means Cochins or Brahma chickens... So spent some time on the phone finding out what the closest TSC has not in stock as far as coops go, lol... every sku# I gave them resulted in a nope. I will have to order the kit if we do that.

So hoping to get the bigger coop project off the ground soon.
