Nah they'll face like that for a few weeks. Kick a little after that for another couple weeks then they'll avoid each other for awhile. Eventually they'll start back at it again. Once they go for more than a buckle or two it's best to separate them.
They will bust up beaks, heads swollen up bad. It's not worth it usually to risk it. On more than few occasions I've had to doctor up birds I've let go too long. I've got a few different lines some definitely need to be put up sooner than others.

Sorry, I worded that a bit wrong... meant when sh*t gets serious, not serious damage... I've been used to layer breed cockerels and cock birds and they're like minor cat fights between divas if they ever have dustups... break a nail and it's all over but the crying, lol... I appreciate the explanations, it helps me to recognize the differences...

I have a question, since I've been trying to research more about genetics and the strains of gamefowl. Most info is coming from forums in the Philippines. I keep seeing that no one likes hatch much. So why in the world are there so many hatches and people are always saying that x bird is probably mixed with hatch like it's a bad thing? If no one likes them why are they everywhere and in everything? Lol.

I just want a grey. For that grey hen. She's really old and barely lays but I do want to hatch out some babies from her. I don't even know if she's a good type or not really. I just personally like the way she looks. Maybe I can get some younger pullets that look like her with enough patience. Just sneak her few eggs under other broodies.

Bad quality, I had to get a picture at night while they were groggy and not running around. Lol. One of the pullets I got on Saturday. This is the mean one that bites me if I have to touch her. My daughter has graciously given her to me. Lol.
