Nah they'll face like that for a few weeks. Kick a little after that for another couple weeks then they'll avoid each other for awhile. Eventually they'll start back at it again. Once they go for more than a buckle or two it's best to separate them.
They will bust up beaks, heads swollen up bad. It's not worth it usually to risk it. On more than few occasions I've had to doctor up birds I've let go too long. I've got a few different lines some definitely need to be put up sooner than others.
Sorry, I worded that a bit wrong... meant when sh*t gets serious, not serious damage... I've been used to layer breed cockerels and cock birds and they're like minor cat fights between divas if they ever have dustups... break a nail and it's all over but the crying, lol... I appreciate the explanations, it helps me to recognize the differences...
