Since you already know your grid coordinates I would call for fire (napalm). Give yourself a little wiggle room. Works best while standing out in yard shirtless, wearing a Calvary hat. Cigar would be a nice touch as well.

@centrarchid actually this year I haven't seen too many Japanese beetles. A couple years ago they were pretty bad and I hung a few traps and caught a few but they didn't work well. I remember as a kid at my buddy's house they had full traps hanging all summer. I'm 36 now so that was probably 25 yrs ago.

I have seen a lot more honey bees this year though. All over the clover and honey suckle.

This outbreack is not one were it is localized. It differs even from a locust swarm in that regard. This year we also had an exceptional hatch of May Beetles and June Beetles looking to be heavy as well. All have grubs in the ground and where May Beetles are abundant, they are far more impactful than Japanese Beetles even this year with respect to what damage grubs cause. The Japanese Beetle larvae are simply every where.

Same has happened here... bad a couple years ago, but only seen a handful all year this year...

I don't recall seeing a single honey bee this year. Wasps a few

One of the main reasons I started letting chickens run loose was all the stink bugs in the fall. Finally after 2 yrs or so they started eating them. I've noticed a huge drop off of stink bugs in or around the house. A couple hens set up shop on my deck and just pick them off all day long. One of the few things that actually worked out like I planned

I think it was last year I had a flying ant hatch in my yard. I had to change the birds water like 3 times a day. The water cups were full of em.

Honey Bees and native bees doing well on my property and in river bottoms near me. They are not doing as well where agriculture is more intensive. It is from this point on in the year they really get hammered because summer and fall blooming plants are what is really being hammered by how we manage landscape. It is not just about disease and pesticides. The bigger commercial bee keepers know this.
