There's a lot of myths about station and all that crazy talk. I've hatched birds in sept and had zero station, size or problems with gameness etc..

In northern climates if your hatching as early as down south that usually means they're indoors being fed sh*t instead of out in a yard with bugs and grass.

Are you talking about game chickens or some other breed.

I tend to keep late season hatchlings. Mostly because I have too many chicks by midsummer and start to sell them off. By the end of the season, the few remaining chicks usually end up sticking around because most of the early season are sold or eaten.
