I was told this is some sort of game rooster. He's not big but he's really strong! He's awesome with the hens and makes thr nests for them every morning. He's in a horrible molt right now so these are old pictures of him with his favorite ISA brown hen. I'll get new ones once he's fully feathered again I may be partial but I love his coloring so cool

Cool colors.. Birchen (or Black Grey) with Straight comb. Looks like some kind of game rooster, but probably never know which kind specifically, if you dont know the breeder.

This is what I think an extended black (E) crossed with gray (Silver) looks like. Biggest difference between this and birchen is shoulder color. Extended black codes for black shoulders despite silver gene.

Thank u! He's really Territorial, not with people. But he will attack any other rooster so I have a pen just for him and my layer hens. He loves his hens. When he is feathered out his black feathers have a green she an to them. I happy to see something similar to what he looks like. And he came off of a big ranch in tuscon Az. He was given to my husband as a gift for shoeing a rope horse

Wow I looked up birchen and u guys are spot on!!! This is exactly what he looks like! Only thing is his legs are darker. But body feathering and posture are right on! I'm excited now I can get him some hens. Right now he just has my layer hens I want some broody breeds and was told games are great mommas. Now that I have an idea what he may be I'll get some birchen hens thank u sooo much

Yea thanks I'm excited!! I just thought he was a plain old pretty rooster. He was an open range so its hard to catch him I had to clip his wing ( my husband was sooo mad ) cuz our coops didn't have tops on them when we got him. But he's in a big molt now and will be getting his wings back. Once he's caught and settles he's quite pleasant. He puts up a really big fight though and is strong he can wiggle out of ur arms easily lol. Only down fall to his is he sounds the alarm and goes in to a panic when we go to collect eggs clean and stuff. But we like him.

Holey cow lol u guys got me on a roll! I searched and dug up the guys receipt from my husband called and turns out the he actually has a pedigree! Not sure what it is but the guy told my husband he breeds them and keeps up with the bloodlines. Not sure how he does that when they are running free on several Acers, but who am I to say it can't be done. So WOW I would have never known I had such a cool rooster if it werent for u guys! Thank so much.
