Its already started at about 6weeks old. Seems to be healthy and unfazed by whatever happenView attachment 1126445
I have one of them scalped chickens. This is after 2 months. The skin actually was missing all the way down half of her neck. I think she has healed really nice, and yes that is her skull the skin didn't make it all the way up. But she is running around just fine. She was attacked by my ISA, I had to take her out of the coop for a week. For a while I only had 1isa and my game rooster and this hen attacked everything dogs cats killed pigeons and sparrows. I now have a small flock of layers and she is OK with them but she doesn't like anything that is barred, speckled, or white....I ended up with 3 brown leghorns and her and the roo in a big coop. Every time the rooster mounts one of the other hens she runs over and pecks the hen he is trying to breed...she is just a devil thing. But ur little one should be just fine, I'd get keep them away from the older rooster. I know that my game cock knew who was a rooster before I ever did. He had my chicks sexed at about 6-7 weeks

Got three 3x4 bases built need to get some wire.

Where do yall find them smaller tarps with the metal grumet holes so they wont tear.
I use the same tarps as sdm111. Get em at harbor freight for a few bucks a piece. They're cheap and smell like China (chemicals) but they work.

View attachment 1126534 I believe I'm reading this different than you havoc. The way I read this is that a WMA permit is required when hunting on ldwf (state) land. Ref #6

Big branch is federal land (white fed vehicles as opposed to green state vehicles) which would not be under ldwf and would only require this free permit. View attachment 1126537 on a side note it reads to me if you hunt a WMA you get a WMA permit and that's ALL you need to hunt it. As in no regular small and big game. Reference#7
Hmm. I will study it some more.

Legs are fine just the head and one eye are injured. Thats what she said she seen as they are on her property. Could have happen that way then the chicks started pecking too idk ima build some pens asap.
They are about the right age to start. I look to the stag with the most red on his comb and wattles and the most advanced feathering. He is probably the dominant one and the one that lost was probably #2 trying to be #1. Just my experience...

I just realized I posted a pic of deer in a fenced in pen and then a little while later of a dead deer that I cut the tail off of. Pure coincidence.
The deer in the pen was sent to by my wife from a kiddie amusement park and the dead one really was hit across the street from my house. Looks bad. lol

Ive had damged birds its nothing new things happen now ive got pens in the making to prevent it later down the road, and i apprecate it fellas.

It was more a reference to what ive read here and else where stating they can be such and such old when my experince was at a month and a half age. Just posted for refence if someone is to look through here and have the same question.
And now i say with gamefowl the sooner the better like sdm, havoc, and doubleleft stated just was hoping for a wee bit longer haha you live and you learn hands on is the best experience.
