she's supposed to get the Staples removed in 2 weeks and supposedly the cone comes off too. Her uterus was so filled with infected fluid she was distented and in the xray you could see her intestines were pushed up by her ribs (why she was distented). They said when it ruptures (any moment) she would go septic and it'll be fatal shortly after.

and that bandage isn't covering anything unnecessary. That's all incision cause it was filled and they couldn't bust it at all cost.

Oh man... am I sure glad I downsized my chickens months ago. We just finished moving all the birds in the garage before the storm gets here. I don't think I could have fit anymore.

Tuesday I got blindsided by an illness in dogs I've never heard before called closed pyometra. She didn't seem herself for a few days just not spunky but not I'll (I thought). Went to the vet they took x-rays sent us to an animal hospital for an untrasound and was informed shortly after (10mins) emergency surgery was needed right now or she was going to die. Wasn't expecting that. So she went to surgery, stayed for observation till Friday and I been dog sitting. On 3 medicines no getting up on furniture. No nothing really. She is stitched and stapled shut has a cone on. Cold compress 3times a day medicine twice a day.
oh and a fentynyl patch.

Poor baby. But so lucky it was caught. Many intact females die of this before owners know what is wrong with them. This reminds me I need to make an appointment for my pyr. She still needs to be fixed. I have been slacking.

Man SDM. That's a shame about your dog. Glad you were aware enough to notice something was off. I probably would have lost the dog if it were me. Figure her issues were a cold or ate something bad and she would get over it.

She is a good looking dog!
