I've come to the conclusion that absolutely nobody should take shubins advice when it comes to gamefowl. Not that I do! I did let them go just a wee bit too long though

@JShubin seriously I've been doing some thinking. You seriously should stop telling people that they can allow a gamecock to run free
It's bad advice and irresponsible. You may be able to do it and I'll leave it at that. For somebody new it could end horribly.
