Do u mount the water on the outside and they stick their head though? That way it's easier when iced up.

Not on that pen. That one is big enough and has a full size door. On the rest though yes I hang them on the outside, bend the wire a little to make a slightly bigger opening. After I dub birds I put them on the inside so theyre not raking their heads on the wire for a week or so.

I have so so luck with ping pong balls in waterers during winter. I usually water ever two days until winter.

How often do you water them in winter?

I use the black bowls. Easier to find in snow during wee morning hours, even without a flashlight.

Lol if somebody rode up here on a horse I'd let em take what they wanted. Although I had a guy stop by with a sled dog team one winter. Equally impressive if you ask me. He was just asking about them though.

That's what I've got now centra, but they like to stand,spill and poop in em lol. Though I don't think two games could spill them but other larger breeds I've had can.

If gets cold enough here that the water cups freeze every day. Sometimes minutes after I give water. I don't fill them though. I only fill them maybe 1/4 full every day regardless of the weather. Birds need fresh water every day.

Ever tried the pong balls havoc they seem to help a bit if its not a dead stand still day.

After a snow storm. Add straw to all pens and break ice out of the cups and give water.
