Where do north and south actually end? I am halfway between something and something and it can get up to 110 F here and down to -10 F.
I remember 2 days of what I would call cold last winter. Cold being needing a jacket. I hope we have more this year. I'd like to experience some cold days too

Thanks for the tips! I can see why buying eggs or quail sized birds is better than a trio. Is that how you got you High Noon Leipers Havoc? Mel Sims also popped up several times but I don't think that operation is running anymore.
Just need to find the number now.

I don't think eggs are better than a good trio. Just less money and slightly less chance of getting picked over that's all.

Yes I got eggs from High noon. I did buy one pair of Mel sims from Texas.

When was this? Do you know if he is still operating? I hear he's done or some BS like that.
Also, what makes a proper trio?
Like relationship wise between the cock and hens.

Mel sims passed away years ago buddy.

Remember broodfowl are there for a reason
Yessir I think it would be better to have the breeder dictate which fowl continues the line. There no such thing as brood eggs/chicks...right? Lol

So what makes a proper trio? I've seen some mfs try and sell brother sister trios and that just doesn't seem right to me. I'm thinking the Broodcock should have no to very little relationship with the hens, but should the hens be sisters? Or from separate families as well?

Do any of you all know any reputable breeders in Texas?
