thankyou sir, I'm sure you've had your share of fine roundhead blood. I absolutely love these r/h and shure will be breeding this spring. I also need to breed up some kelso I have the last cock of hs local family that's known. I would like to gift some chicks back to the man that has had his line for as long as I can remember. It's been a very long time since I had a conversation with him. Last time I seen him I was by a friends and he came and picked up a sweater pullet. But didn't stay. He lives next to a pipeline and prior to 2008 it was a heck of a sight to see all the blue barrels lined up on the pipeline. He gave me my very first gamecock a grey. But first he gave me a hatch hen and waited until I started to get the hang of handling and caring for her. He gave me the grey and told me to mate the two and the rest is history
Man at least your guy eased you into game fowl. My guy just gave me 12 radio pullets, said good luck and left.
Then when it was breeding season he brought me a Radio cock and told me to raise the males and kill the females, then left. That first season I only raised 2 stags. The rest either died as chicks, killed by other mommas, or eaten by predators. Not to mention I lost damn near half of them hens either to predators or illnesses, but to this day The Radio Hens have proven time and time again to produce The most game stags hands down. Yeah sure they're not The smartest birds, but they keep going and dont stop. The second season is when I started to take raising game more seriously. Its been a hell of a ride boys, and all of you have helped me tremendously.
I'm beyond thankful for every little tidbit of advice or info. Stay warm!
