No we've always been able to produce HP here in America the thing was more efficient HP. And it took decades to do so and be compliant. And I'm not talking engines performance I'm talking parts and other things they make it so every joe blow can't do without going to the stealership. When you have to pull a bumper to replace a headlight that's the type stuff that could be avoided.

Heck VW rivets their dust shield covering the window motor and regulator your telling me that was the best way? Negative the list of stupid things on vehicles these days is a long one.
Yeah any and everything on a BMW too just like a VW. But it's ok once you learn how the part is put together by breaking it (plastic parts). But they sure are fun. They did do a great job using quick connect hoses. No more hose clamps

that is understandable... Efficiency is key word.

VW/BMW probably doesnt want you to take apart their car.... they'd rather sell you another 40k car in 5 years.. Thats business men tactics

I’m not impressed by modern society’s definition of an engineer. The first engineer most likely walked around naked and wiped his *ss with his hand.
