On the showing side not entirely accurate. I get "scored" DQ's which is proof you where there. Problem some poor saps get into is that when birds are dubbed, still get DQ's, because color does not fall under one of the categories on their charts.Battle trimmed, I've never heard it called that before. If you enter your fowl in a poultry show, they have to be trimmed in order to get scored. On the other note if you had long hair and every time I went to hit you I grab that hair with the other hand, then yes, if your hair was very short and I'm not able to hold you down with it, I would say shorter is better. No frost bite, no chance of pox, no comb or wattles is a win win to me.
I always take a pair of my Greys, as a stag they will score him un-trimmed here in Louisiana. The last show I went to I won first in stag category and first in the pair category.
