Laying depends much on the strain and how much emphasis is put on production qualities. I would get some birds and work on them to improve production, but there's not much use doing that when I already have my Chanteclers that fulfill that and lack feathered legs, which is a bonus in my world. They are majestic birds though, that much I will admit. I had some once upon a time.
