That was part of problem with pic of five above. Spurred hen killed two and dinged up another. I cannot tell if intentional. Pulled balance and placed them in brooder. She also had more than her share of busted eggs in last 3 days of incubation.
This hen hatched every egg, I thought about putting her butt back to work and just pull the eggs a couple days before they hatch.
 
Exactly the reason why I don't care for spurred hens, they do break eggs occasionally. The hen that got me when the snake got her chick has spurs, she put a hole in my leg. Lol

That’s frustrating. I’m sure the hen is valuable. I’ve only had it happen with one hen. I don’t know I look at it like there’s an obvious mental issue. I’ve got no use for a hen like that.
 
I had my pen staked down and unfortunately witnessed the hen pecking the chicks to pieces. She wouldn’t stop so finally just ripped the pen, staked and all out of the ground and culled her *ss on the spot.
 
I’ve had a few hens that were careless with the chicks. They got culled too. Find one dead then two days later another one. Healthy nothing wrong with them otherwise.
