For example as me and my son were paddling back to the boat ramp we saw two kids sitting on the dock fishing. 12 and 8 maybe. The parents are sitting in their truck in the parking lot. You mean to tell me it’s too much trouble to get your lazy asses out of the vehicle and spend some time fishing with your kids. For them guess so.

to busy facebooking and wouldn't be able to get to them in time should something happen.

Kids didn’t fish enough as youngsters so they lack how to deal with things when it don’t go their way.
That and they didn't get their *ss kicked enough coupled with ritalin, SSRI's, adderal, and all sorts of narcotics being pumped into these kids. I'm not surprised this is happening. These kids are being indoctrinated to think a certain way and we can clearly see its not working.
Everybody is a winner now, their efforts, no matter how painstakingly hard their achievements, are being ignored because little Timmy feels bad he didn't get recognized as well for doing absolutely jack. Not to mention bullying is still running rampant through these schools. Irresponsible parents leaving guns unlocked.

A whole mess of issues.

But hey let's take guns away from everybody or add more laws to the books. That will surely solve everything.

Let's start with getting kids off drugs.
Anti depressants and Anti anxiety medication are deterents to the real issue. Changing the natural chemistry of a young child's body and brain while he/she is developing is harmful.
Ritalin, adderal and drugs used to "treat" ADD or ADHD are amphetamine salts. That's clinical grade purified meth were pumping into kids who can't pay attention. I knew a whole mess of kids on these drugs growing up. The majority hated taking their pills and would often sell or give them away at school, but then the rest of the kids who did take them would be zombified all day. I remember getting a Vyvanse capsule (used to treat ADHD) from a friend in high school to try it out. Didn't sleep for at least 36 hours.
"Mom I feel sad"
"Okay let's go to the doctor"
"Mam your son is clinically depressed, here's some xanax, good luck"
Or
"That boy ain't right, always breaking things, getting into trouble, and never pays attention in school. Better take him to the doctor"
"Sir your son has ADD, here's a script of Adderal, good luck".

Instead of talking to their kids, really putting in the time, effort, and work to you know....actually be a parent, they choose to pump their kids with addictive garbage just to peacefully continue the obvious neglect.
Then the country acts surprised why these kids are doing what they're doing.

I thank God everyday my dad and mom whooped my *ss and took time to hammer out my issues. They weren't perfect but they never insisted on putting me on drugs to "fix" me.

I grew up without my father as he passed at 40 in 92. It was not uncommon for me and my little brother to be by ourselves without supervision more times than not in the woods, running wide open, building forts, fishing etc as we knew if we didn't listen our ass'es were grass. We were constantly outside doing something and we got our fair share of whippings (a lot lol) yet I never had the thought of taking a gun and hurting someone. If I had an issue at school or with anyone it was handled with hands and backbone not fear and a trigger which is easy to pull for anyone but not so easy to face the aftermath once they do such. No matter because guns are easy to blame for this crap but it isn't the guns fault at all it's this world I reckon it's easier to pull a trigger than take a few licks these days and it's a shame.

Kids should be outside it teaches more good habits than not. Learning to be independent, respectful, work habits, and some kind of honor is good places to start.

I do believe the issues stem from young males not understanding how to deal with life, girls, hormones, etc. These are kids who have nothing to worry about yet for some reason feel like they’re lives are terrible or over because somebody didn’t like the meme they posted on Facebook.
There is a war on masculinity if you haven't noticed.

I also think we need more armed folks in school aka law enforcement not just one or two old fat play ground cops. Have you seen a school lately theirs atleast 100 points of entry's at any given time. My girls elementary school has one "resource" officer and I'd bet my life 90% of the doors are unlocked and only the front is guarded.
