I have two water cups in that pen. One on automatic and the other i fill. I've never seen both empty. Auto comes on 3x a day

You're right though. More water couldn't hurt.. bigger cups would stay cooler too

I don’t know how that auto system works but every bird is different with how much water they drink. I have some roosters that don’t drink 16 oz in 2-3 days in summer. Others will easily finish 32oz himself a day. Unless they were sick or something. I guess you’ll never really know.

I fill cups once a day. I don’t knowing it’s cause they know I’m coming or not but when it’s hot and dry like it’s been theres always some dust, dirt in the water. As soon as I give them fresh water every single bird drinks even in winter no matter the temp.

not old about 1 year... and very good quality. on the heavy side... Both from same pen. so I think something about that pen... maybe not enough shade or water too hot.

I like to position the water cups where they get no Sun at all. Also like to spread some mothballs around the yard every couple months to ward off snakes and other dangerous critters.
The raccoons haven't made an appearance in over a year now.
