About two weeks ago an older lady was attacked by a rabid gray fox. Happened only about 5 min from my house. Same deal the lady killed it with her hands. She got a few nicks and scratches but that was about it. Testing came back that it was rabid.
I had a raccoon charge me one day a few years ago. Came home from work and found it sitting in the middle of the yard with its hands on its head (distemper). Changed clothes and the birds went nuts. He was after em or just blindly charging because his brain was frying. Nonetheless he stopped for a sec, snarled and came running right toward me. Shot him about 3 steps from me.
