That is what happened to the one I had. It was a rather quick transition and a stag I really liked. I don't recall him losing weight, but the tail did not not correct. Maybe I culled a stag that just needed wormed...
there was a fella a few yrs ago on here that culled all his birds only to find out that he described fowl pox to a t but the cull already went through

As a kid, I remember going with my dad to pick up some hens with wry neck. They had Marek's or Newcastle, I can't remember which.

Makes even more sense with backyard flocks to just put them down then.
