This time of year and threw winter I leave for work befor dark and get home when it's dark so my wife's and son feed and water. I still go check on them all even if there's bad weather. The weekend is when I use tie cords but that's only if the weather is dry because I don't like a wet bird when it's cold. Is every two weeks enough?

I think that would be plenty. I don’t move them that often. A lot depends on weather.

The frequency part varies with type of vegetation and time year. When it is hot and vegetation in poor shape, then more. During winter with extended periods where ground is frozen, then a month or more. Move very often when it rains a lot.

We have 1 acre of land. The house is just shy of mid way. The back part is 1/4flat, drop of about 6ft which is another 1/4, and then the last 1/2is flat that runs into pasture. I move them to fresh grass as needed according to each pen. What would be a good grass seed to plant for them come spring?

I think it is closer to the ideal option, but requires more ground. Moving pens allows ground to rest keeping birds from having to walk about on manure, wet or dry. It is easier for me to do because moving birds between pens can require more handling that involves getting dirty.

I don’t mind moving them around. You definitely will get dirty though.

Cool season grasses with some legumes (white clover, alsike) are a good mix. If I had the means, then a warm season assemblage would also be used.

Dutch clover works well. Down south, I think they also use dixie crimson clover as a cover crop. I have tried both and the dutch seems a little more resilient, but I am up north.

You guys seriously need to post some birds. Texi, havoc, an me is the only ones most times and my phone makes em look like they are from 1964 and doesn't even wanna take pictures 80% of the time.
